Dr Healy’s interest in menopause care grew through the increasing work she was doing with HRT in her day to day practice as a GP. She is passionate about providing a whole person approach. She considers the wider impact the imbalance of hormones can have at this stage of life putting you and your body first. She believes in the importance of holistic care and tailoring treatment to suit you as an individual.
Education and Experience
Dr Healy is an experienced GP with a special interest in menopause care. She trained at Norwich Medical School qualifying in 2011. She has worked as a GP in Fakenham and now works in a Norwich based practice. She has a certification with the British Menopause Society as well as having completed specialist menopause mentoring through the Theramex mentoring programme. She is a proud member of the British Menopause Society and the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum.
Lifestyle and Interests
Dr Healy has a long standing interest in mental health and lifestyle medicine. She is aware of how this time of life can affect a woman’s wellbeing, cognition, and ability to perform both in the workplace as well as day to day life. She is due to complete a course in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) for the management of menopause and is enjoying looking into the benefits these cognitive strategies can have. Her interest in lifestyle medicine and preventative healthcare sees her attend regular courses with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine to help women live healthier, fuller lives.
Outside of work she loves to spend time with her two girls and husband. She loves getting outdoors in the Norfolk countryside regularly with them. She thinks it is important to find time to care for ourselves in this busy world and has recently started a brilliant Pilates class which she is enjoying.
